The Car Collection Story

I am not a car nut and never have been one. You will find no car magazines in my home. If my cars get me from point “A” to point “B,” that’s all I ask them to do; even, if people laugh at me at stop signs.

From 2005 to 2017 the Lord in His own way has provided me with 9 different little, 3 cylinder cars, ranging in age from 1991 to 2000 and mostly all of them are Geos. Some have cost as little a little as $1,000. The savings on new car payments and gas over those 12 years has allowed me to put out 8 of the 11 CDs produced during that time. Without these cars those CDs would not have happened and ministry would have ceased.

Those who call me stingy have no idea what it takes to do ministry in a bankrupt church age, where most Christians spend more on dog food than on missions. Ah, but God knows and has supplied our needs, even if it means sleeping in the car at truck-stops at times.

Recently I ran into some back problems resulting in a painful sciatic nerve issue. It is difficult and illegal to drive with my right leg on the other side of the car. So, a change was needed. Now, at age 55, I finally need a vehicle with a bench seat and cruise control to continue with the long travel.

The 2014, Toyota Rav 4 to the left in the picture here is now my horse for the road. If this nerve issue goes away I may be able to use my little fleet again, but maybe it is just time for a change. God knows the wear and tear that travel like this can put on a body and the new vehicle is very likely God providing a way to continue on.

I am very thankful for all that God has done for us through the years. He truly does take care of us like the little birds and the lilies of the field.
